What is Botulium Toxin A?

Botulium Toxin A is a neurotoxic protein which stops the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. Therefore, it prevents the muscles from contracting. When injected in small doses, it helps muscles to relax and reduce the appearance of fine lines and winkles.

Is the treatment painful?

The treatment is pain free and does not need any local anaesthesia.

How long does it take to work?

The effect appears slowly and gradually. It takes 4-14 days to reach final results.

How long does it last?

Each individual is different, however normally the effect of Botulium Toxin A last 3-6 months.

What are the side effects?

The most common side effects are swelling and bruising which resolve in few days post injection.

Are they any contra-indications?

Treatment will not be carried out for pregnant women, breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions such as myasthenia gravis or Eaton Lambert Syndrome.

What are the pre and post care treatment?

We often advise to avoid rubbing and touching and make-up to the injected area for 4 hours. Please avoid extreme heat/cold for up to 1week post treatment. Abstain from Alcohol, heavy exercise for 24 hours.  Smoking should be avoided for 6 hours before and after treatment. Stay out of Sunlight/UV radiation until redness and swelling has resolved.

Is there any top up available after my treatment?

Yes, you are eligible to have a top up treatment 2- 3 weeks after your treatment.

What is the good age to start botulium toxin?

The right age to start Botox depends on your skin, however, we recommend preventive Botulium toxin for the clients between 25- 35 years.
