What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are gel-like substance, typically made of hyaluronic acid, that fill wrinkles and add volume to soft tissue and hydrate the skin. Dermal fillers can be used in different part of face such as; cheeks, lips, eyes and jawline. Additionally, we use dermal fillers in hand rejuvenation.

How long do fillers last?

It depends on the density of the product; type of fillers and the area fillers has been injected. The dermal fillers for lips approximately last 3-6 months, however it will last longer if client has had multiple treatments previously. Dermal fillers last up to 12-24 months.

Is there any downtime?

The treated area may bruise or swell however this should resolve after a few days.

Is the treatment painful?

Local anaesthetic cream will be applied to numb the area 10- 20 minutes before the treatment. The procedure should be pain-free after applying local anaesthetic cream.

What are the side effects?

Swelling and bruising are the minor side effects of Dermal fillers which takes between 3 to 7 days to recover. There are also some provoking factors that may interfere with bruising, such as; medications (anticoagulation), lifestyle and alcohol.

Are they any contra-indications?

Treatment will not be carried out for pregnant women, breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions such as myasthenia gravis or Eaton Lambert Syndrome.

What should I avoid before and after treatment?

We often advise to avoid rubbing and touching and make-up to the injected area for 4 hours. Please avoid extreme heat/cold for up to 1week post treatment. Abstain from Alcohol, heavy exercise for 24 hours. Smoking should be avoided for 6 hours before and after treatment. Stay out of Sunlight/UV radiation until redness and swelling has resolved.

18 years

Do you offer permanent fillers?

At Glamour aesthetics, we only offer temporary fillers as we are unaware of risk for permanent fillers.

How will I look immediately after my dermal fillers?

The effects of fillers are immediate, however due to swelling and minor bruises you may not see the full effect for another week or two.
