No cellulite miracle!
I got my first cellulite on the back of my leg when I was 17. I didn’t like it but it didn’t bother me too much as it was only on my buttocks and not so visible unless I was going to the beach in my bikini.
They gradually started multiplying to the point that I felt uncomfortable wearing mini skirt. I know cellulites are natural regardless of your weight and very common in women. You can be a size extra small and still have cellulites but mine just bothered me. Therefore, I did some research and found a once off treatment called ‘Cellfina’. Cellfina is a nonsurgical procedure used to reduce the appearance of cellulite. It’s a minimally invasive procedure. The procedure doesn’t require surgery or general anaesthesia. Cellfina uses a microblade technique to target cellulite on the thighs and buttocks. Cellfina promises cellulite reduction that will not reappear ever again. It sounded perfect to me. I mean would love if they could go away fully and forever but reduction sounds pretty good too. Combine the treatment with exercise and you’ll get even more reduction.
Anyway, I booked my consultation and decided to go for the Cellfina treatment.
Before I go into my personal experience I want you to know three things about me. Firstly, I have very high pain threshold (I don’t feel toothache until I have a very deep tooth decay) and secondly I bruise like a peach and thirdly, I heal slowly.
Full consultation will be offered to all clients. Please book your appointment here.
Day of the treatment:
After signing the consent form and receiving information regarding the procedure, I was given a gown to wear, and then stood under light where the nurse marked all my cellulites. They tell you to stand in different positions so they can mark all of them. I knew exactly what positions my cellulites are most visible, so that was helpful. After marking, they cleaned and sedate the area. The sedation is the most painful part of the procedure. It gets easier bit by bit as it goes on. They cut the cellulite bands which comes with loud noise and might be painful at times but it’s not a constant pain like the initial sedation injections. After that they cleaned the area and bandaged the treated areas. I was supposed to keep the dressing for 24 hours however the bandages were soaking with blood after 2 hours so I took them off and re-dressed them. The treated areas were very swollen but I managed to drive home safely shortly after the treatment. I even went shopping later on that day. The treated areas bled for 2 days and it was very tender to touch. The area was swollen for about four days. Depends on your body type, you may experience severe bruising which is normal. The majority of the bruising cleared after 6 weeks.
I am now 3 months post treatment and very happy with my results. I still have slight bruising which should clear gradually. I have red marks where the bands were cut and they can last 4 months but I guess mine will not fade away for another 6 months as I heal slowly. But my cellulites have been reduced even though I won’t see full results for a year but I am happy with the differences it has made to my cellulites appearance so far and it can only get better. I will definitely be wearing shorts and mini skirts this summer.
Overall, I would recommend the treatment. But I must warn you; it’s a painful treatment, you might be uncomfortable for 2 weeks and lots of bruising and marks afterwards.
